How to create a contact QR code

1

Fill in your details

Name and phone are enough; add email, company, title, address and website if you like.

2

Scan to preview

Your phone shows a "save contact" prompt — exactly what others will see.

3

Put it on everything

Business cards, email signatures, event badges, CV headers.

Where contact codes work best

  • Business cards — the card carries your brand, the code carries your details.
  • Event badges & conferences — attendees scan each other instead of typing.
  • Email signatures & invoices — clients save you in one tap.
  • Real estate & field agents — full contact info on every listing and vehicle.

vCard QR — FAQ

Which fields should I include?

Name + phone is the most scannable. Every extra field makes the code denser — the field counter in the card header tells you how many are being encoded.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Both platforms natively recognize scanned vCard QR codes and offer to save them to contacts — no app needed.

Can I add a profile photo?

Photos bloat the code massively and hurt scannability. Keep it text-only and let your face be on the card itself.

What happens when someone scans it?

Their phone shows a contact preview with your details, and a single tap saves it to their address book. Nothing is sent or received.

I changed jobs — do I need a new code?

Yes. The details are embedded in the image, so updated info means a new QR. Takes ten seconds to regenerate.
