JPG, PNG or WebP — multiple files at once, any size.

Lower = smaller file, more artifacts. 75–85 is the sweet spot for photos.

Tip: WebP usually gives the smallest files. Converting a PNG screenshot to JPG also saves a lot.

Caps the larger side, ratio kept. Phone photos are often 4000px — 1920 shrinks them massively.

Appended before the extension. Empty = keep the original name.

How it works

1

Drop your images

One file or twenty — remove any file from the list with its ✕ button.

2

Tune the slider

The list updates live: watch the size drop as you move it. Every file shows before → after.

3

Save all files at once with your chosen suffix. The stats bar shows the total saving.

Where smaller images matter

  • Websites — page weight is speed; compressed hero images load in a fraction of the time.
  • Email attachments — stay under attachment limits without resizing one by one.
  • App & marketplace uploads — stores and portals cap image sizes; batch-shrink to fit.
  • Storage cleanup — reclaim gigabytes from old photo libraries by capping dimensions.

Image Compressor — FAQ

What quality should I pick?

For photos: 75–85. Below ~60 you'll start seeing blocky artifacts. For screenshots and text images, consider converting to WebP at 90 — text stays crisp and the file still shrinks.

Why did my PNG get bigger?

PNG is lossless — re-encoding a photo as PNG can't shrink it much, and at high quality settings it can grow. For photos, pick JPG or WebP output instead; PNG is best reserved for screenshots, logos and line art.

When should I also resize?

Almost always, for photos. A phone camera produces 4000px-wide images that are almost never displayed above 1920. Open Advanced Options, set max dimension to 1920, and the file shrinks dramatically with no visible difference on screens.

JPG or WebP for photos?

WebP — roughly 25–35% smaller at the same visual quality. JPG only when you need maximum compatibility with very old software (pre-2020).

Is there a file size limit?

No hard limit — your browser's memory is the only ceiling. Files of 20–30 MB from phone cameras compress fine on desktop; on phones, stick to a handful at a time.
