Any image type in — PNG, JPG, WebP out. Multiple files at once.

Applies to JPG and WebP. PNG is always lossless — the slider switches off for it.

transparent areas become this (JPG can't be transparent)

Resizes while converting — larger side gets capped, ratio kept.

Appended before the extension. Empty = keep the original name.

💡 Tip
Going PNG → JPG/WebP usually shrinks photos massively. Going to PNG re-encodes losslessly — sizes barely change (that's normal). Use the Compressor if shrinking is the goal; use this to change format.

How it works

1

Drop your images

One or twenty at once — remove any file from the list with its ✕ button.

2

Pick format & tune

The list shows live before → after sizes as you switch formats, quality and resize.

3

Download all

Files keep your original names with your chosen suffix. The stats bar shows the total saving.

Which format to pick

  • JPG — photos for the web, email and documents. No transparency.
  • WebP — same job as JPG at roughly 25–35% smaller, plus transparency support. The default choice.
  • PNG — logos, screenshots, line art. Lossless and transparent, but heavy for photos.
  • Resize on convert — set a max dimension to cap phone photos (e.g. 1920) while converting.

Converter — FAQ

Where did my transparency go in the JPG?

JPG doesn't support transparency — it gets flattened onto the background color you pick (white by default). Need transparency? Choose PNG or WebP output.

Why didn't converting to PNG make my file smaller?

PNG is lossless — it re-encodes pixel-perfect, so photo sizes stay roughly the same (sometimes larger). Convert to JPG/WebP to shrink photos; reach for PNG only when you need lossless or transparency.

Can I convert to a smaller size at the same time?

Yes — open Advanced Options and set a max dimension. Images larger than that get scaled down (ratio preserved) during conversion, which also shrinks the file. Smaller images are left untouched.

Is WebP safe to use?

Every modern browser and app supports it. Only very old software (pre-2020) might not. If in doubt for a specific platform, convert to JPG instead.

Does conversion change image quality?

Only for JPG and WebP, and only as much as your quality setting allows — 85%+ is visually indistinguishable from the original for photos. PNG output is pixel-perfect.
